Tanner is a former rodeo star who has left that life to take care of his nephew. Tanner’s brother had recently died. Tanner is trying to be the best stand in dad that he can, so he is really uptight and doesn’t appreciate Kelsey’s free spirit. He wants to do well at the ranch as its new manager so he has to please his new boss as he tries to work with Kelsey. He sometimes is very harsh with Kelsey as he has preconceived ideas about her. Kelsey and Tanner both will have to do some changing in this story as they work together. Kelsey will actually help Tanner with his nephew. Will they let their differences drive them apart.

Brief Summary of Two Cowboy Promises

Second book in the series Returning to Rocky Ridge with Tanner and Kelsey’s story. Tanner had been hired as the new ranch manager. He was trying to build a new life for himself, since he left the rodeo circuit to raise his three year old nephew do to the death of his brother, Nate. Tanner’s first introduction to Kelsey did go well considering. Jackson his nephew had just did a disappearing act, and Tanner found him talking to Kelsey with her offering him food. Tanner then laid into her as being an influencer how bad a person she was, and she should no better than offer a child she does not know food. The incident really upset Kelsey, plus she had no idea Tanner had been hired as the new manager. One of his duties at the ranch was going to be plan a big party with Kelsey inviting the whole town with the purpose of getting the town people more friendly toward them. Neither one was to happy about this situation. Tanner was a very stiff, serious, and by the book person while Kelsey was a more care free spirit, live in the moment person, and they both had very valid reasons for those attitudes. Working together on this project drove them crazy. Everything she thought would be fun, he thought would be to big of a liability. All they seemed to do argue, and he would tell her she was irresponsible and needed to grow up or she would tell him to loosen up have a little fun. Then they would each experience a period of sadness and remorse for the terrible things they had said to the other one. As they learned more about each other, they understood there were reasons for some of their actions, but they still went head to head on many things. A beautifully written story of finding love when you least expect it. Tanner was under a great deal of stress and way out of comfort zone. He was afraid of making a mistake. It took a while for these two to see, they balanced each other out.
