He didn’t know she was a member of the rival family that is suing his family. Everest also has eyes only for Sawyer but she thinks the lawsuit is ridiculous. What happens when the truth comes out? Will these two be able to help bring the families together?

Brief Summary of The Sullen Cowboy

The last story in this series Cupid Ridge Dude Ranch tied up all of the loose ends and the little bread crumbs sprinkled through the other books in the series. They were preparing fro a wedding and now we know who got married. I really liked how Sawyer Ludington came into his own in this story. He has been kind of gruff as he carried the burden of the oldest son. He was trying to carry out running the ranch like his father would have wanted. He has been really outspoken about not giving into the Knott family’s lawsuit. So when this story starts he is actually attending a festival on Knott property to spy out how they are doing financially. He meets a beautiful woman running one of the booths at the festival and he has no idea that she is one of the Knotts. He is totally captivated with her and they spend an evening together at the festival. Everest Knott was six years younger than Sawyer, but she knew who he was when he came to her bread booth. He had no idea who she was so she just told him her name was Evie. Spending some time with him, let her see him differently than all of the gossip she had heard about him growing up. Still even though she enjoyed spending time with him she didn’t want to get hurt getting too close to him. When Sayer discovers that Evie is actually Everest Knott- he suddenly has no problem hanging out with a Knott. He actually would like to spend more time with one particular Knott. When both families find out that their widowed parents are dating will it help solve the problems with the lawsuit or will it drive them further apart?.
