So this book follows grace and riot. To put it into the simplest terms Grace is an Agathos think Angels that watch out for humans. Riots is a Daimons think Demons who tempt humans in someway. There’s many different subcategories of these types of people. For instance Graces special gift is Luck. She can give humans good luck but in turn she has bad luck usually in the form of getting accidentally injured or knocking over a baby shower cake. Riot family lineage can see what tempts humans and most of them are drug dealers in some way but Riot isnt into that. Grace also has darkish thoughts which goes against her agathos ways. Agathos Women have 4 soul bounds and at 25 Grace hasn’t found any of hers which is rare. Many find their 1st as a teenager then they are drawn to her other bondmates. Grace moved from her Hometown to her neighboring town where she works at a homeless shelter. The town is called Milton and it’s very close to a lot of the Daimons. She was getting tired of not finding her mates so she prayed to her goddess and then she also prayed to the goddess of night ( Daimons ) and The candle blew out. Then she got a call from Rae who is a person from the homeless shelter that was out at the bar and She had met riot outside and riot saved her from essentially doing drugs and ODing. When grace met Rae she was drawn to riot and invited him to come home with her. After some back-and-forth they finally realized that they are soulbound which shouldn’t happen because they aren’t the same race of creatures. You see them kind of navigate this epiphany and you also see Grace have a dream/vision that you can conclude was given to her by Bullet.
