When I bought book one of these, little did I know what I was letting myself in for. In all honesty I’m a ‘cover snob’ and when covers look cheap I tend to think the books are either author printed, or are just the cheapest of book publishers, I did say I was a snob when it comes to books! But book one surprised me, I was only 1/4 of the way into it & I went and bought every single book. I think that states enough how much I enjoy them. Granted I LOVE dark sarcastic humor, so the author has that on his side, then I also LOVE long dark drives down dimly lit pathway’s, or as most would call them, red herrings & seeing as I have a swimming pool, Olympic size no less full of little red fishies I thought we could be a good match. But none of that would be enough if he didn’t have characters you fall in love with. Every single one of them, even Hoon, or maybe especially him, lord only knows, but they all fit like jigsaw puzzle pieces, without them all nothing would work properly. If you’ve not read any of these books, start right now, and start with book one, because as with any family, you need to know the good the bad & the ugly, damnit I just NAILED Hoon in 3 words (not counting the the’s & the &’s) And get your filthy mind out of the gutter, nailing means lots of things I’ll have you know! Next book please Mr Kirk, or should I say Mr Hutchison? So while you write I’ll go cheat on you with another author HOWEVER seeing as you cheated on me first I get a twofer!
