Rarely do books pull me in as quickly as this one did. A casual browse in an airport bookshop planted the seed, then once I got home I bought the Kindle version. Right from the start I wanted to know more about who these people were and the world they lived in. While I greatly enjoyed the book and the main plot, I think what will stay with me in particular are the the slower paced and more character-focused first few sections and all the questions they raised. There was a mystery, haunting feeling as knowledge of the world built up piece by piece and the characters revealed themselves. It is fascinating to think of a society living this way, hermetically sealed. The author has created a really original environment and world. A few moments and scenes will long linger in my imagination. It has been a while since a book has grabbed me like this one did.Wool by Hugh Howey
