After reading ‘The half-Orc’s maiden bride’ I was very curious about King Mathior’s story (because he and his people special customs were mentioned in the story) . So I decided to just read it and I’m glad that I did because like ‘The half-Orc’s maiden bride’ I enjoyed it very much. This was also a quick, light-hearted and fun read. Perfect if you have a few hours free and you want to forget about your problems for a little bit.I liked both main characters very much. Halla was brave (as a 16 year old and now as a grown woman), intelligent, gracious, curious and kind. Mathior may be a fierce Cyclopae warrior but he’s a good guy too and special. He waited 16 years to be with the one woman that stole his heart when he was 8 years old. That’s true love and loyalty (or maybe some would call it obsession). But I liked that very much. That devotion of a young guy to his woman (even though she didn’t know about it). Halla spent the last 16 years of her life in a temple so she had lived a sheltered life and she was still a virgin even though she was in her early thirties. The story wasn’t long but the writer did a good job of creating a well build world, filled with strange wedding rituals and different customs. It was lovely to read that both Halla and Mathior respected each other and also their culture which was very different from each other. They were a great couple.
