This was the first book that I read by the author Ruby Dixon. I had heard many positive things about her books but I hadn’t read anything by her until now. But after reading the title ‘The half-Orc’s maiden bride’ and the blurb of this book, I had to read it. A story about an Orc!?! As a big fan of ‘Warcraft’, ‘The hobbit’ and ‘The Lord of the Rings’ I had to read this story and I’m so happy that I did because I really loved it. It was a fun and sweet (yes! It was sweet too) story. Perfect when you have a few hours free and want to read a quick, light and entertaining story with a few steamy scenes in it. The story was told in both POV’s.Iolanthe may be tall and sturdy but her dreams are small, she just wants a good husband, a few children to love and a house to take care of. But as the years go by and she’s already thirty years old, she slowly loses hope that her dreams will come true. Not only her height and her age are a problem but also the fact that her family is poor, makes it extra hard to find a husband. But then one day her father announces that he has found her a husband. Someone strong, tall and rich. Iolanthe is so happy! But during her first meeting with her husband-to-be she discovers that her father forgot to mention that she will be marrying a half-Orc! After her first shock and surprise Iolanthe soon discovers that Agakor is a gentle guy who hides a good and kind heart under his terrifying appearance.
