It’s no surprise that I’ve read everything written by this talented lady. I actually came into the game late and then devoured her entire back catalog. She has a way of pouring so much emotion into her writing that touches the reader on an elemental level, and I’m always left longing for more. After an earth-shattering revelation, Starlet Evans lets her best friend persuade her to step outside her comfort zone and attend a frat party. This quirky, funny, beautiful soul is a “good girl,” but she throws caution to the wind and ends up having the most amazing one-night stand. Well, her only one-night stand. Ever. No names, few words, and they’ll never see each other again. Although she still sees his sad eyes in her mind. She walks into a high school English class on her first day of student teaching and sees those sad eyes staring back at her.

Brief Summary of the Book

Starlet is 21 and Milo is 19. He is a senior in high school but was held back due to health issues. They meet at a frat party and have a one night stand. Starlet is coming out of a relationship with her cheating ex so the ONS is her letting loose, so to speak. They can’t stop thinking about each other after that one night.When Starlet starts her student teaching at the high school, she is shocked to see Milo in her class. I don’t typically read student/teacher tropes but this was well done since they really are so close in age. Milo is struggling with the loss of his mother the year before. Star also knows loss as well since her mother also died. She is perfect for him – so understanding, compassionate and helps him how to cope with his grief.
