The Lyon’s Surprise written by Meara Platt which was published in April 22, 2021. You can read this before The Lyon’s Surprise PDF EPUB full Download at the bottom. Great series and all stand alone stories. I did miss not having Mrs. Dove-Lyon interact in the story – all off page. I just knew the “secret” Jenny kept would cause all heck to break lose when the H discovered it. So glad the author had a different view how this played out. I can’t stand stories where secrets are kept until the end of the story and then all the drama happens. So refreshing this author had the character’s understand, like adults, only one choice for the h. You will feel a connection to these two from the start. They loved the same things in life, simple pleasure of hearth and home. Romance builds slowly and their is lovemaking, not graphic at all. Bedroom door practically shut – heat level 1.5 out of 5 if that. Two villains who cause some trouble but the H handled them with ease. I liked how the h put a female in her place – priceless!. I did want to know what his brother John was doing for those 3 plus months. What did he have planned for his future with a wife and child? No cheating, no cliffhanger, HEA, romance and a small tad of spice. I am not going into the blurb, as I can’t improve on it. Just recommending, this novella and talented author.

Brief Summary of the Book

In the midst of a horrible storm, Cheyne Lyon, Duke of Mar, is surprised and a bit suspicious when he finds a young woman and baby at his door. Jenny claims to be his brother John’s wife and to have been sent by Bessie Dove-Lyon, the matchmaking owner of the Lyon’s Den in London. He becomes even more suspicious when the letter she produces from John describes a Jenny with beautiful blue eyes. The Jenny at his door has beautiful green eyes. What happens now? Jenny has secrets and is running from danger. What will happen when that danger finds her and Cheyne finds out that she lied to him? This is a lovely story with loveable (except the villains, of course) characters. Cheyne is a grumpy, but sweet and caring hero. Jenny is beautiful, intelligent, and brave, if a little secretive (at first). I love the way Lyon’s household welcome Jenny and all three Lyon uncles fall instantly in love with little Johnny. The story has some drama, danger, and uncertainty. There is also some humor, reconciliation, and a wonderful HEA. A nice quick read.
