It shows what can happen when you don’t communicate. I loved the plot. The characters were developed and easily relatable. Blake and Ella were good together and their chemistry was hot. I did feel that Ella went to far at the rehearsal dinner and at the wedding. You hold it all in and eventually you explode. That’s what happened to Ella. While airing out your issues is good, at the reception is not the time. I’m glad things worked out in the end.

Brief Summary of the Book

Ella has been betrayed by her hot boyfriend, (now ex) and her younger sister. She takes a new job and moves to the big city, trying to leave her family drama behind. Then, mom calls and tells Ella that her younger sister is now marrying that guy and to come home for the wedding after Christmas. Ella refuses to be pitied by her family & friends and decides she will show up and be deeply in love with a new rich & handsome boyfriend, except he doesn’t exist. Blake is the CEO of the company Ella works at and she runs into him drunkenly during the office Christmas party. Blake is enchanted by Ella, and as she spills the beans about her plan, Blake volunteers to be her boyfriend for the wedding. Then their flirting goes to the next level and maybe they won’t have to pretend at a relationship after all.
