This book in the series does not disappoint. Jay and Keris’s story had me reading the book straight through over the past several days, wondering if love would win out and good triumph. The storyline is great and the sex scenes between the characters—hawt. I’ll leave readers to discover those details on their own.But even outside of the sexy scenes, I genuinely love the whole book and laughed at some of Keris’s perceptions and misperceptions as the story unfolded. I also love that Jay’s character shows so much care and protective instinct for Keris, even as he shows respect for her as a smart, sentient being. It wasn’t just about her admittedly hot body; her mind and spirit we’re driving factors in their relationship development. Great choice, that!Literally my only complaint right now: The storyline and book just ended for me this afternoon…and I want more, much much more. I hope that Ms. Carter gives Jay and Keris some substantive cameos or updates in future books of the series. I’d love to know if they have a kid together and what happens with Jay’s bio mom and if he has any other bio family… I can see that some lovely stories could come from the possibilities.
