Brief Summary Kissed by the Alien Mercenary by Mina Carter

Saal is one of my favorite characters, so it’s awesome that he gets his HEA. I liked the h for him, although her character wasn’t as robust as Jessica. (See Pregnant by the Alien Healer for the full story.) Plus I felt a little let down by Saal’s more quiet demeanor. Sure, he had some lessons to learn from before, and he did. i just didn’t expect him to be quite so meek.The big disappointment for me was Laarn. He seemed to adopt some distinctive classist hangups that really tarnishes him. To decide that Saal wasn’t good enough because of his clan affiliation is just ugly. Then, to behave childishly by hiding Saal’s emails/letters…just wow. Almost every conversation between Laarn and Saal was terrible. Laarn who was supposedly “best friends” with Saal at the end of PBTAH, now speaks to Saal as if he’s a lesser life form. And yes, Jessica was incensed when she found out but I would have expected her to seriously blow up some fireworks based on her previous behaviors. This really kind of colored Saal’s HEA for me.And why no mention of Isan, the newly discovered brother? There’s been no word of him at all, which makes zero sense, since both he and Laarn are the best healers in the kingdom so work closely together. Hope there’ll be some future relationship building there.
