I’ll be honest, when I heard that this book was about Wolfe and Eric (aka Dr. Monroe) I was nervous that it’d take me forever to warm up to them. Well, I was completely wrong because I fell for them after reading one chapter from their POVs. Wolfe was possessive and obsessive and solely focused on making Eric his and I loved that because it was exactly what Eric needed. Eric was looking for a connection and Wolfe swooped in to be the mate that he needed and deserved. Eric was able to break the emotional leash Wolfe kept himself on and Wolfe was able to show Eric he was worthy and lovable just as he is. Also side note…I didn’t expect Wolfe to use all of those pet names for Eric but he did and I SWOONED! I got giddy every time he broke out the pet names. As always, it was amazing to spend more time with the couples from previous books in the series! They were all so accepting and welcoming to Eric. Whenever they were all together I had a huge smile on my face and I couldn’t help but laugh at their interactions.

Brief Summary of the Book

Unexpected match, but a wonderful HEA! Wolfgang was a slight departure from the rest of the Vampire’s Mate series in that Wolfgang bit first and asked questions later, but for me it worked. When I found out that Dr. Eric Monroe would be the subject of Grae Bryan’s next book I was curious how she’d take the flirty, almost sleazy, Doctor and turn him into a main character. However, not only did she accomplish this task she excelled! While Wolfgang “has no empathy” he absolutely cares for Dr. Monroe and only wants his happiness. Eric needs someone to truly see and love him, and he without a doubt finds that in Wolfgang. I’ve really loved reading this series and the different avenues it takes in the “fated mate” trope! This story shows that there’s always more to a person than what appears on the outside, as well as there always being someone out there for everyone.
