I could not put this book down it was that good (and that’s normally not the case for me so that’s saying something). I lived in the heart of the French Quarter for many, many years and you could say I know the city’s history like the back of my hand. I also know-like the character-that vampires do exist (and I’m not talking about the wannabes, “energy vampires,” etc., etc.) and that’s all I’m going to say on that subject. This book definitely brought back all the excitement I felt when I first visited New Orleans, and in this currently upside down world makes me miss my city even more and want to move back. I found myself smiling with certain things she mentioned in the book that I could easily visualize as well. While there was an undertone of sadness, I found it to be highly enjoyable and entertaining (although I was disappointed in the ending as I was hoping for what the character was hoping for…plus,
