Vampire’s Nest is the first book in the new duet, the Blood Vow University series. I was hooked from the very beginning. Helen Scott is one of those authors that I get so excited every single time she puts out a new book. As a caregiver, I really connected with Cordelia. It takes a toll on you physically, emotionally, and mentally. I really felt what she was going through. Sometimes, you aren’t thinking what’s best for you, but you will still do whatever it takes to care for your loved one. I seriously felt that deep in my soul! At times, it was hard for me, because of what I personally went through.

Brief Summary of the Book

After learning of a third job opportunity from her best friend Roni, that could make Cordelia’s life a bit easier. But, it’s not that simple (nothing ever is right?), the job is becoming a personal feeder to vampires at a club called The Nest. After some hesitation she decides that this sacrifice will ultimately pay out in the end, protecting her grandmother, and attending university. We meet Rook, who is an ancient vampire, he’s immediately drawn to Cordelia’s scent and her beauty. He requests an exclusive contract to be the first vampire to feed on her, the broker is happy to arrange the transaction. Rook isn’t sure why he is so drawn to her, but he knows enough to not let her go. What I really love is that we see a few chapters from Rook’s POV! It’s a great way to see what he’s thinking and his inner monologue, I hope that we see a bit more from his POV in future books.
