Brief Summary Bite of the Gargoyle by H.P. Mallory

In chapter three, the first meeting between mist boy, Vampire Gargoyle Derith and Jo the monster hunter, he calls her Suisse, and ask her if she is her. The reply is no. Then in the dungeon scene in chapter five he mentions that she looks like a person from his past but she is dead. But then Derith in chapter six is shocked by Jo’s resemblance to a person from his past. “ I don’t know how I didn’t notice before you look just like her.” Was this book even read for continuity, or does Derith have short term memory loss, because I don’t and can remember a few chapters back. There is also a plot point about Jo/Joanna drawing blood which she does when she nicks Derith with a knife, but just prior to that she shoved a blade in his neck and that is never commented on that his wound was bleeding.
There is also a miracle when Derith knows Jo’s full name as Joanna, her despite only telling his minion her name is Jo. I love omnipotent characters. NOT. Oh lest I forget, a sister Kathleen who is , mentioned and just poofs off. Yes she is supposed to be a part of the family that is killed, but she isn’t mentioned in the slaughter by the vampire
