I have often wondered what would be the case if we were the pet to a far more advanced species. My concepts are pretty dark and early in process rather than what Ms. Milo has created in her Pet Project series. I was wondering about some other thoughts… but she certainly addressed them in her second book: Unnatural Selection. Without giving away spoilers, I loved it. This is definitely a different sort of reversed harem-type of story, but then again, I find practically all I’ve read to be very unrealistic. In this situation i.e., Unnatural Selection), I find the circumstances quite realistic.I appreciate Ms. Milo’s attempts at decent character development for the length of story she’s written. Though I would have liked to have learned more about Avox and Tranq, their involvement isn’t as important to the story as it is for Kory and Theresa (or Fee-Bee which is her “alien” name). By the end of the book, I was hooked and entranced, enough to get a little emotional at the very end. (No, you’ll just have to read it because I promised no spoilers!) And her children are so delightful, it makes me wonder how I would be as a Keeper.
