James, a family friend of the Barnes family is coming to Colorado to spend the summer as he always has. While Addie and her sister are waiting for him at the train station Addie is hoping he will see her as a woman this year instead of his friend’s little sister. She has been in love with him since the first time she saw him. Her hopes are shattered when he is forced to announce his engagement in the paper.He had hoped to have the summer to think about his situation and come up with a plan but his fiance’s father is pushing the issue and wants an immediate wedding. As James and Addie spend time together he realizes his feelings toward her are no longer as a little sister. It seems an impossible situation even though the family has rallied to find a solution.I liked the story of James and Addie and the family she had who were willing to help anyone in need. The story line was good but it was told in more than one POV and the conversations and observations they had in thoughts went on a little long and caused me to lose interest somewhat.
