This book was quick to read, but the deeper I got in the story, the more I hated all the characters. The main character is a wife and mother who is disappointed by her marriage and motherly duties. That’s interesting. The only problem is literally everyone in the book feels the same way. No one in this entire book is happy with a partner or without, and the character we’ve been hoping to grow ends up dumped and comes to the conclusion that romance is for idiots. Like I said, having a main character with these thoughts and regrets is interesting, but having every character in the book echo these thoughts ends up sounding very incel-like after a while. Also, the last 75 paged stretched out to long once we knew most of the background to the murder.
