I have enjoyed each book. I have found very little to complain about in this series, unlike many others I have read from different authors. This author is doing an awesome job editing his work. I truly appreciate that because it is so distracting that people in general do not care about their books. They always say oh I am too busy or I cannot afford it. But that is not true because a simple word editor would catch 90% of their errors. They’re just too bloody lazy. I think all those other authors should be forced to read this series and compare it to theirs. In this particular novel, book number five, a prologue clearly states that our protagonist will not be looting dead critters like he should be. And our author is very proud of that fact. However there’s a big discrepancy in this book, where the hawk is depositing many bodies in shared storage and that’s how the protagonist Jake knows she is making a lot of progress. However when the hawk meets up with a new friend, the new friend discovers the hawk because there is tons of bodies laying around. That part of the story meshes with the prologue but not with the actual previous text. So yes I am nitpicking and I will still be reading each of these books because the overall story is awesome! It’s just that the author bragged so much about it and then was inconsistent. I will say that I’ve noticed very few inconsistencies over these five books, which is amazing considering I read about 400 books a year and most of them fall apart by the fifth novel.
