The Pearl Sister written by Lucinda Riley which was published in April 6, 2023. You can read this before The Pearl Sister PDF EPUB full Download at the bottom. The Pearl Sister has been open on my Kindle for about 3 months, I am struggling to get through it. I like it, but I don’t love it, and thats the shame because my expectations have been set with the other books and so I’m dissapointed because I just can’t seem to flow with it like I did the others. It feels a bit unrealistic at times, and I try to roll with it but have to stop and do something else, whereas with the others I was engrossed and couldn’t put the book down. I want to say it feels contrived, but I guess thats a good description of the whole series, not in a negative way, but the whole storyline has an element of that. This book just tries a bit too hard, and there are parts to it that I think ‘really’. Anyway, I’m considering skimming through the last few pages, or just pushing on. I don’t feel good about not completing it, as I really cant wait for The Moon Sister in November. I guess lets be realistic, you cant always get on with all of the books, I’m sure there was one Harry Potter book that dragged a bit. So in a positive frame of mind, bring on the next one.

Brief Summary of the Book

This novel moves between a dual narrative: CeCe in the present, and her ancestor Kitty, in the past. Their fates will converge in the story towards the end, but first we must travel through the sometimes joyous, sometimes devastating paths of Kitty’s lives. The dual narrative between Kitty and CeCe brings you just enough to get you really invested in each character before bringing you back to the other time frame. The perfect way to get you turning through those pages! I thought CeCe was a really interesting character in this series so far. In the previous books, she comes across as fairly unlikeable and a real hinderance to her sister, Star. Coming into this book, I wasn’t sure if I would want to like CeCe. Discovering more about her, and why she comes across the way she does, was one of my favourite character ARCs out of the entire series. CeCe is an artist in her bones, but drops out of her course in London and isn’t sure who she is. Discovering her connection to Australia and the culture of the Aboriginal people awakens a renewed sense of purpose in her and brings art back to into her life, and allows her to carve a new life out for herself in the process. The way that the author describes her feelings that she is unable to find the words for, and emotions that she is sure other people feel but aren’t quite there for her was powerful and incredibly interesting.
