I am 75 years of age..and still have a need to write. Loved Catherine Cookson.. schooled in Liverpool UK Domestic reasons Mom took brother and myself to South Africa.. I was 15 years and devastated to leave my Gran.. So lifetime of staying strong and being true to values..sense humour helps. Father was a figurehead but suffered from Bipolar…Mom was a free spirit..loved travelling which she did by being a Stewardess on Liners..So a mixture of living in different places and cultures and accepting folk for who they are. Deafness affected me so wrapped myself in books..Joined the library …only heard sound of rain falling 2 years ago with a new hearing aid THOUGHT was something amiss with the Aid…..heard call of bird the crackle of a leaf when foot stepped on it…a new opening to sounds..so one never knows what lies ahead..still got alot of living and experiences to attain.

Brief Summary of the Book

New to this author and not my normal read but every now and then I like a deep emotional read.You get that in spades with this book it gets a little depressing there is a slow burn romance very slow but not much happens there (would of been better if it had to help with feeling depressed at the read) The book is focussed on addiction mostly and family coping with it both sides of that and family loss, 5 people trapped in the library when a snow storm hits, more is the Liberian her brother (mario) is a addict after a family loss you follow her but the book flips to Marlene and Lewis also and you follow the story with them, vlado is the security guard of the library (noras love interest) and Jasmine is a young girl coping with the loss of her mum. This is a heart breaking story it is slow and depressing (that’s why 4 stars,should if out a little more happy in) but as the characters open up and tell each other there story there is a little banter and clearly they each touch each other in a change forever.It made me cry there is a 6 months later and you see what happens after.
