Brief Summary The Fae Hunt by Nicholas Woode-Smith
I am totally obsessed with all 9 Kat Drumond novels. Highly recommend this and all 9 books. She may be my favorite anti-hero of all time, although by the end of book 9, she may not be an anti-hero. Either way, she has seemingly infinite compassion for her friends, and even for creatures who initially may have been her enemies, certainly enemies of the general public. Perfect example: in book 5 of the series she meets Candace, the Necromancer/Necrolord, who controls an army of necros who have been terrorizing Hope City. At first she is determined to kill her until she learns her story, and then she redeems her. They learn to trust each other, to the extent that they each swap one of their eyes, each ending up with one blue and one hazel eye. OK, I know that sounds hokey, but all I can say is you have to read it and all will become clear.Ridiculously strong, brave, and resourceful, with the best weapons, some magical, and surrounded by the best group of friends ever. She even has a ghost, Treth, living in her head, which at first seems a bit odd, but half-way through the series you come to really like him. She also has a pixie, Duer, who you can’t help but love.
