Brief Summary Move the Stars by Jessica Hawkins

After the wedding of Tiffany and Manning at the end of book 2, this book picks up 4 years later! It’s 1999 now and we find out that Lake is living in New York now. She just graduated college and hasn’t seen her family, or Manning, in 4 years. She left after his and Tiffany’s wedding and was gone before they even returned from their honeymoon. She’s no longer speaking to her dad who was extremely disappointed in her choice of going to his alma mater and crushing all his dreams for her future. In the first chapter, Lake arrives to her apartment to find Manning waiting for her. Lake just graduated college and went into acting. He’s in town for work and had to see her. She finds out he’s now selling pharmaceuticals and working for her dad and as soon as his parole was up to leave the state he had to come see Lake. They end up finally giving into, sleeping together and spending 5 blissful days together, they make plans for their future, he plans to go back to California and get a divorce. When of course, the other shoe drops and reality comes crashing down on their plans. This is around the 60% mark of the story and then we jump into part 2 of the book!
