This book really pushes Olivia’s character development. The main difference is that there’s a lot of David and not so much Bill. The stark contrast in her behavior and overall disposition is very obvious with the change. Olivia makes the decision to put her happiness first, but it is not without its own set of complications and casualties along the way. I thought I already loved David throughout this series, but in this book, David really knocks it out of the park with how devoted he is to Olivia and what lengths he will go to for her. David is a fantastic male character. He has the reputation of a playboy who doesn’t do commitment but because Olivia has the privilege of getting to know him personally, it’s obvious that David craves a serious relationship and has been looking for “the one” to settle down with and now that he has found her, he is all in. He’s protective, possessive, romantic, sexy, sweet and incredibly generous and caring, always paying attention to Olivia’s needs while still being manly. Not to mention that he puts up with a lot from her. Gretchen is the best friend to Olivia that has seen her go through ups and downs, but Gretchen is still there for her.
