That being said, it’s not a happy go lucky book. Auden is a walking, talking textbook case of Stockholm Syndrome. It’s quite sad to be inside her head but I can tell she’s also very strong. She looks for the bright side of everything and once she knows her worth I feel like things will change. This book is definitely a set up for what’s to come. It doesn’t really dive deep into any character development but has a massive amount of foreshadowing. It had the perfect mix of the main characters inner thoughts and the world that’s literally built around her. I’m usually pretty good and seeing a plot twist and I don’t know why I didn’t see the one in this book, but I’m glad it surprised me.
