Brief Summary Flock by Kate Stewart

This book was solid and is a great setup for the rest of the series but because I had the next two books spoiled I was cautious the entire time and was just waiting for certain characters to appear. If you know nothing about this book I think book two will be more impactful but I will 100% be crying no matter what. Without giving spoilers myself, I can already tell my thoughts on who she ends up with will be severely different than those who had no clue what was going to happen because I’m able to view each character based on that knowledge rather than follow Cecelia’s current emotions.I think Kate knew what the end to the series would be before she wrote this and if you pay close enough attention there are some red flags that seem to stick out, although I can’t tell if that’s Kate’s writing or things I’m making a big deal out of to justify the end. I kept pushing this series off because I knew what was going to happen and that I’d be sad but I actually found myself detaching my emotions from some of the characters because of it. I also think I might be in the minority that actually will like the ending because I knew in advance and actively tried not to get attached or wrapped up in certain characters throughout the book.
