This is book two of the series. It does pretty well as a standalone with the essential bits covered early on. You will just be missing a bit of background. This is an urban fantasy story involving the fae. The story is well written and easy to read with a fascinating and well detailed setting. It is the fae, so of course that means there is a lot of intrigue which definitely keeps our heroine on her toes. The characters are also well done, particularly our heroine who is definitely a survivor. The plot moves at a good pace and there is plenty of action to keep things interesting. Overall, an excellent continuation of the series and I look forward to seeing what comes next.
