Mink seems to have the same outline for most of her books and this one is no different. I found this book irritating and predictable. First, Angelica is so childish saying she’ll have all of Antonio’s empire once he’s gone but how would such a naive and childish person manage to control a mafia empire. Her bratty rebellions were so silly I kept rolling my eyes. Subtlety is not a word Mink knows because the bad guys are so over the top just like the “hero.” I like mafia romances but I wish Mink or any other author would elevate their writing. The bad guy is always described in such obvious ways, not good looking, gaudy etc. I would love a book where the villain is more subtle and the hero doesn’t have all the right answers and the FMC isn’t a young and foolish kid like Angelica and all of Minks other FMC’s..
