Not only the whales but their more than swimming pool sized ocean are whisked away at 10 times the speed of light. don’t expect a satisfactory explanation of how this trick is done. and instantaneous communication to home base at the edge of explored space 9 light years away. and no we don’t wait 18 years for a reply, radio is so old fashioned. as in Adams “Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency” we can understand this as the interconnectedness of all things. Radio waves are demonstrated in high school physics class using a rope that a lateral wave travels down at a somewhat slow and predictable rate. but you can communicate instantly to the person holding the other end by pulling on the rope instead of sending a wave. So it is this easier to understand interconnectedness of all things as being able to send Kim’s IP messages across the continuum of space.
