The book did not have the feel of a competent clinician in charge. The characters were highly stereotypical and rather shallow. The story is narrated by Nichole, in the past and Krystal in the present. They are not sisters but insist in calling themselves sisters as they both grew up together in an abusive household. Nichole has now been sectioned as it is alleged she set fire to her house and tried to kill her husband. Nichole is diagnosed with some bizarre syndrome but then it appears the diagnosis is incorrect. Krystal, meanwhile, a lawyer who is claiming to represent her sister proceeds to go against every legal code there must be in interviewing Aiden (Nichole’s husband) who has the most miraculous recovery ever known to man. One minute he is on a ventilator and blow me, 6 hours later he is up, talking coherently for long periods of time to a woman representing the woman who tried to kill him.
