The pharmacist Wolfe spends her days dispensing medicines and general advice when not agonsing over the fact she is infertile and this caused the breakup of her relationship before the catastrophe(I can’t help but feel that infertility would be the least of my worries if I was holed up in a bunker after a nuclear or bioweopon holocaust). This is why I think it is in part formulaic – the heroine had to have something bugging her apart from the mind numbing boredom of living in the bunker – so here it is.Cue a summons to see the leader who surprise surprise lives in luxury in another part of the bunker, has raped a young woman, and oops wants Wolfe to polish off some inconvenient members of the community by means possible.
