I usually really like Portia MacIntosh and I look forward to each new book. This one just didn’t catch me, it took about half the book to get into it for me. So many books are described as laugh-out-loud and they are not particularly funny, but this book had me crying with laughter. One of the funniest books I have read in a long time and I read a lot. If you need an escape from the depressing news or your own problems, this is the perfect read. I absolutely loved it. Do not miss it!

Brief Summary of the Book

Frankie is a journalist and is living in a shared accommodation that she hates and is writing for a romance magazine for women. It is not stretching or challenging her. At least her editor is easy going. She turns up late for a meeting of throwing ideas around and finds herself with a no nonsense new editor and the idea she had planned was the very thing this new editor says she does not want to hear. She has to think on the spot. She comes up with meet cutes meaning meeting a man the old fashioned way and not online. She then has to come up with examples which she tries with hilarious lol moments and as Frankie is so skeptical about dating & love she ends up missing what’s right in front of her …. Will she take the plunge and go for what has been staring her in the face…… This was hilarious in parts and lighthearted, a touch silly in parts but I could easily gloss over due to the lol moments a great beach read.
