The Hunger of the Gods by John Gwynne Review

The Hunger of the Gods written by John Gwynne which was published in April 12, 2022. You can read this before The Hunger of the Gods PDF EPUB full Download at the bottom. A good second book, but not great. I say this sadly, because I’m used to John always being great. I wasn’t a fan of Elvar in book 1 and she’s still not a character I like very much. I understand her role in the story and her arc makes sense, but I just find her unlikeable. It that is the intent, then I guess it worked. Orka and Varg are two of my favorite characters and Varg has good character growth in this book. Unfortunately Orka doesn’t really grow as a character the way I thought she would. She stays basically the same beat for the whole book. There are several POVs in the story and there is a lot going on. John handles this well, as usual, and pacing always felt good. I really loved most of the book, but there were a few moments that seemed convenient tools to move the story forward. I know that’s needed sometimes, but I feel it happened more than usual for one of Gwynne’s books. That being said, I look forward to the next book and John Gwynne continues to be one of my favorite authors.

Brief Summary of the Book
