The Captain’s Revenge is a fun, action-packed and entertaining follow-up to The Syren’s Mutiny. It featured delightful character development, angst and banter. This book was a strong end to a fun duology filled with morally reasonable pirates, stabby women and excellent mythological referencing.This book picked up from book one quickly enough to keep my engagement and slowly enough for me to get my bearings back in the story. The flow and tone felt continuous and intriguing, and the writing was even better than in the previous book. Also, the characters were lovable as always, except for the detestable villains, who I enjoyed loathing.Overall, if you like “pirates”, stabby women, gods and mortals and Celtic-toned ocean-themed books, The Syren’s Mutiny and The Captain’s Revenge are for you.
