I wasn’t sure about this book heading in. I’ve read reviews going both ways so I was only hopeful but not too hopeful. I thought there were many good things in this book. Hollis, while a bit immature in the beginning, is the picture of kindness. I am a fan of kind people so that definitely helped even out her imperfections. I thought Hollis did some maturing throughout the book and I liked that. I’m not sure I always understood her, but I liked her. As far as characters go, they all felt young but this is a YA book so that should be expected.I could feel the tension growing as the book progressed. The mystery surrounding the royals was intriguing and kept me interested. It’s that feeling that all isn’t as it appears to be. I felt like the book had a decent progression but the last quarter of the books really goes quickly and hits you full force.
