The book so aptly titled follows 6 powerful Medians who are invited to participate in a fellowship of sorts to gain access to a secret society. The catch? Only 5 of them will continue on and the 6th will be eliminated. The book is medium paced with some slower parts and some faster parts. Each chapter follows a different one of the main characters for the most part. The book is filled with twists and turns, keeping you wondering about people’s motivations and what alliances are real and which are not. I don’t believe you are meant to love all of the characters. Olivie Blake poses a lot of very interesting, thought provoking existential questions about how our perceptions skew our view of the world. I found it incredibly intoxicating to be honest. I love stories that really make me think about larger meanings.
