Brief Summary Shield & Sorrow by J.E. Ridge

An overall likable story but several things are left a little unresolved. It almost feels like there’s going to be another book but also not. Other things were resolved enough that maybe there will be no second book. If there isn’t then it’s a little annoying that Silas, the MC, had some major issues with decisions being made for him by friend and foe and never really confronted that. Also the romance ends with a HFN with a definitively stated end date, two whole months. So that didn’t feel great. But over all it’s a pretty well built world, well written, didn’t quite feel like a book where smut was welcome so I skipped over those parts. I’d consider reading the next book if one comes out based on the summary since this one wrapped up enough that I would be ok with stopping here. /shrug
