Prisoner of Night written by J.R. Ward which was published in January 7, 2019. You can read this before Prisoner of Night PDF EPUB full Download at the bottom. The overall story was good, granted nothing too original. However, this could have easily been slotted into one of the ACTUAL legacy books which have been focusing on the trainees, their progress and slices of the BDB we know and love. It’s a short story which has little to no links what so ever to the either of series we know. She introduces three to four new characters, yeah we all love a new face but the story felt somewhat rushed and honestly boring.
I find it hard to believe Wrath would have no clue about a cult within his area and this mysterious token ‘bad guy’ has never been mentioned before in any story despite the backstory of being a fearsome warrior in the Bloodletters camp.

Brief Summary of the Book

However, recent books have muddied the waters, with stories crossing over between the two threads so you feel you have to read the Legacy books that come out between the main BDB books or you might get spoilers. As a result I pre-ordered this book, despite the pre-release information being scarce, confusing and contradictory as to whether this was from the main or Legacy series. To make matters more confusing on reading the book I discovered it was a novella with no real connection with either series, other than Wrath being name checked a couple of times late on in the book! Going back to the story itself, I found the characters difficult to connect with and very two dimensional. If the main ‘bad guy’ had been brought up in a previous book I could understand the tie-in but this just felt like a sub-plot that has been hacked from her upcoming novel to drum up a bit more cash.
