Brief Summary Of Mist and Shadow by Jenna Wolfhart

The story starts with Tessa out stealing gemstones from a cavern which she’s doing for an unknown man who visits her in her dreams. Somehow she ends up getting caught by King Oberon (Light Fae). He doesn’t do anything to her, and she can’t figure out why (but I did). So here comes the annual “I Am Choosing A Queen Day” and sure enough, Tessa has to dress up to line up for the king to inspect. And surprise surprise, the king chooses her. So she’s forced to go to the castle where she’s going to be the king’s wife for 75 years.Things happen (one of which was her sister being beheaded. The king threw the head at her feet during a pre-wedding party) and she ends up escaping and… is saved by the man whom she’s been harvesting the gemstones for and he, of course, turns out to be the Mist King. Things happen, they’re attacked by the Storm Fae, one of Kalen’s crew, Toryn is injured and Alastair and Niamh have to take him back to Kalen’s castle. While the premise was plausible, it felt like a plot device to get Kalen and Tess a lone for a while. There ?? some serious chemistry between these two, but sadly, all they do is kiss. There was one glitch in the time-line where Tessa had mentioned being holed up in the place that they were for a week or so, but then said she and Kalen had been training for a few days. And out of a 437-page book, I found only two errors, and each was a missing word and it made me stumble. I won’t go any further with the plot, just suffice it to say that I really enjoyed this book.
