There was plenty of spice, great character interactions, and the portrayal of abuse/trauma was really spot on. I related to several of the scenes where the main character is triggered or dealing with her trauma and loved that her friends (and Lukas) were always supportive. I had to put the book down at one point to hug my husband as it made me realize how amazing he is in supporting me through my own traumas. Well done! While I recommend this book to anyone who loves fun twists on vampires and the supernatural, there are a couple things I want to mention that are on the negative side. The hands in the hair thing… it’s too much. They don’t need to violently play with their hair every time they say a line. After a while it was just annoying. Lamp shading doesn’t make it any better when it is “excessively excessive”.
