Can Sally save the town she’s learned to call home? The Nightmare Before Christmas is one of my favorite Tim Burton films. When the book sequel, Long Live The Pumpkin Queen, came to fruition, I knew I had to read it! Beginning right after Jack and Sally’s marriage, Ernshaw whisks the reader on a whimsical honeymoon of lovey-dovey bliss. Off the bat, the devotion between Sally and Jack is still as beautiful as in the movie. As much as Sally loved her King, the role of Queen didn’t come naturally. I recall Sally being nurturing and well-balanced, but the ongoing insecurities that ensued were unimaginable. I had difficulty picturing her in that state of mind, mainly because her character fought hard for independence.
