The lives of three women—aspiring violinist, Katrina Nguyen; world-renowned violinist, Shizuka Satomi; and Lan Tran, the alien starship captain—intersect and intertwine, changing lives and destinies. There are multiple storylines, subplots, and sub-subplots, plus there are a ferry-load of characters. The author is too fond of POV switches—many made without warning—and often not identifying speakers. Note: I don’t consider one blank line a warning of POV switch. Happily, I’m familiar with classical music and several instruments, but there’s a lot of musical terms and references. I’m glad Kindle has a dictionary and access to Wikipedia for new-to-me conductors and musicians.
