In Every Generation is the continuation I personally have been waiting for. No nonsense, no giant Dawns or space bugs and definitely no sex that leads to a birth of a new universe. Those, in my book, are all the reasons to get this novel.It effortlessly combines everything we know and are used to in the Buffyverse with new information, and mixes in exciting bits from everything we missed. You can see that it was written by a fan, and you sense that it’s done with love and care.It’s easy to fall in love with new characters, since they are not so different from the old ones, and not in a bad way. They go through new problems, more modern but still relevant. And even if they speak directly to the newer generation of fans, they won’t leave us 30-somethings uninterested either. No matter how old you are, it does feel like returning to Sunnydale High (to school in general). So these new kids, they will be different, but they still do carry the same spirit, their lives seem grand and scary, their problems – apocalyptic. And of course, at the core is friendship that builds a family.
