Brief Summary Forgiveness by Skyler Mason

Whitney and Mark have a long history of not being the kind of husband and wife who communicate in a proper and healthy way. As a result, Mark has been punishing Whitney for the last 15 years for her infidelity by repeatedly committing his own. I don’t know that one necessarily cancels out the other, because they both deeply hurt the other, but no one said Mark handles things maturely. He might be a top businessman who appears to have it all, but when it comes to Whitney, Mark loses his head. And now their marriage is about to be dissolved so Mark becomes desperate. Whitney is finally about to have the freedom she’s been longing for and imagining her new life without all the drama and heartache. As for Mark, it’s a bit of too little, too late, but he’s not giving up. Suffice to say that I think they both paid dearly for their mistakes and I even felt a tad bit of sympathy for Mark because he doesn’t know how to love in a nontoxic way. Although I could’ve done without his man tears on more than one occasion, I did believe in his remorse and genuine desire to do better as well as be better. I think some parts could’ve been fleshed out more given the lengthy amount of time and hurt that accumulated over the betrayals on both sides.
