Brief Summary Fernhill Lane by Kristen Proby

Kristen Proby has a way of taking characters and their emotional journeys and presenting them in a calm and caring way. Sarah’s past relationships with her parents and ex husband were very toxic (looking into any warnings you need around these) but we meet her in her journey of understanding where she is now learning to be back on her own and relying about on her friends who care most about her. Tanner is the perfect caring support that Sarah learns that she is ready to lean on. Their romance is sweet and sexy. I love that this second chance does not rely on the past for us to understand their feelings, but it is understood that they have and always will love each other and this is now their journey to prioritizing their love. I really enjoyed the way these two spend time together and we see all the lovely ways they are learning to trust each other again, as well as how they balance their time together and alone. There is a light suspense element that is build throughout that helps Sarah to fully progress out of the past into her new life and it is fine, and light handed (the way I would expect it to be handled in a Proby novel).
