A great read. Good characterisations of the main protagonists from young Jimmy Diamond; put upon Linda; scheming Babs to Martin Morton (whose comeuppance we hope will be spectacular when it arrives) and Dave Carter – a bad man with a good heart? All the supporting characters are well rounded, Ruby Morton is a dark horse and I’m sure we shall hear much more of her. Derek, her brother, was the only main character I felt was not so well fleshed out – but that maybe because he and his posh new pals are going to feature in the next gripping instalment, which we hope is now on the cards?
