Jeff Carson is one of the few authors I found through Kindle that has caught and held my interest from the first entry in his Dave Wolf series. I’d rate this one well above average. Here Dave is approached by the former sheriff to help him find his nephew who is on the run after becoming a suspect in two murders. Did he do it or is he the victim of an elaborate frame-up? And what about the family of one victim who seems hell-bent on extracting vigilante justice on the nephew?At the same time, Dave is facing a challenge at home that could lead to him losing his job as detective. The twists and turns pile up leading to a violent confrontation that leaves several people dead. But I had a little trouble following the action and dialog in the scene. Keep writing them, Mr. Carson, and I’ll keep reading them.
