Darla Drake, aka the Duchess of death, aka the creature of clear creek, aka chick of ultimate disembowelment, is having….an existential crisis. After taking a year off from terrorizing and maiming (and disemboweling) the cruel counselors of Clear Creek she finds that her territory has been taken over by the one and only Jarko Murkvale (who has no catchy nicknames). In order to get back her territory she and Jarko must hunt using the other monsters techniques. And what ensues after is hilarious and well worth reading.If you want a warm and cozy monster romcom this book is absolutely for you. The banter between Darla and all the other characters is hysterical and I absolutely loved Gretl and her gobbler. It was a quick and easy feel good read and I can’t say enough good things about it.
