There is nothing I love more than a book that’s having a blast. Just crazy fun for the sake of crazy fun. I’m not used to seeing it in mafia romances, but boy did it work! The banter between the leads in this book was delivered with fast-paced, witty dialogue that I just adored. The love between them was wild and ridiculous. I cackled every time Miranda said “That is hot” when it came to Dmitry. He’s older? Hot. He’s killed people? Hot. He’s obsessive? Hot. He’s insane? Hot. And girl, I could not agree more! I laughed every time Dmitry would push her away, only to fall at her feet when she would say just the right thing. They’re equally crazy and it manifests in pretty much every aspect, including their first time—no sweet boringness for her virginity loss; just zero to sixty in point-two seconds. And the ending with the bizarre ceremony, shootout, and birds was the perfect conclusion to the mania. It just tickles me pink when I see authors have genuine fun with their works.
